PARENT/CARER INFORMATION PACK
Foundation Years Nurseries Wythenshawe provides high quality early learning experiences for young children from birth to five years. We are located within 4 minutes walk from Wythenshawe town centre bus terminus.
Session Times
We are a 60 place nursery for children from birth to 5 years. We are open 7.30am to 6pm, 51 weeks a year. We will be closed for 3 days a year to enable us to focus on training and development. These days will not be charged for and we will advise you of the dates with sufficient notice.
We offer full-time and part-time places to meet your needs.
We also offer the government funded, 15 hour free entitlement to all eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds for up to 38 weeks per year.
Early years learning and play
We follow the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and offer children the chance to learn through play. We believe that children have a thirst for knowledge and we aim to nurture this by giving children plenty of opportunity to explore and investigate, using many natural materials which will help to foster children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm.
Your child will be assigned a key person who will work closely with you to meet your child’s individual needs. Your child will have an online record of progress and development called a ‘Learning Journey’, which the key person will keep up to date with photographs, observations and notes about their time in nursery. We use a secure online learning journey called Tapestry. This enables you to keep up to date with what your child is doing at nursery, you can even add your own photos and comments.

Additional hours - we may be able to accommodate at an hourly rate of £8.
Late pickup without prior agreement will incur the hourly rate and an additional charge of £10.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any additional hours beyond 6pm. The nursery must close promptly at 6pm and you should arrange to arrive in time to collect your child and be away from nursery by 6pm. In the event of an unavoidable delay please telephone the nursery and let them know.
Payment of fees
Fees are to be paid monthly in advance on the 1st day of each month. We can offer weekly payments by prior arrangement.
Free Entitlement places will incur the following charges:
Snack: 50p per session Lunch: £1.80 per session
Children accessing Free Entitlement hours only, will not be charged for their education but they will be charged for snack or lunch depending on when their session falls. Additionally, the hours will be offered on a sessional basis. We offer three sessions in our Toddler Room (2-3yr olds) 08:20 - 10:50, 11:00 - 13:30 and 13:40 - 16:10. In our Pre-School room (3yr +) we offer two sessions, 08:30 - 11:30 and 12:15 - 15:15
Those wishing to use their 15 hours over two longer days will be offered two days at 8.30am - 4pm
Additional hours can be arranged but will be charged for in line with our published hourly/daily/weekly fees (see section entitled ‘Additional hours’)
Deposit
To reserve a place a deposit of £100 is payable in advance, of which £50 is refundable against your child’s last month with us. If you wish to reserve a place with us which is more than one month in advance then a deposit equivalent to one week’s fees for every month in advance, up to a maximum of one month’s fees is required. This will be refundable (less £50 deposit as stated above) against your first months fees.
Early years free entitlement
All three and four year old's are entitled to 15 hours free education a week for 38 weeks of the year only.
Help with your fees
Did you know you may be eligible to help with childcare costs if you are claiming certain tax benefits. Also, your employer may have a childcare voucher or salary sacrifice scheme. Some students will be eligible to grants from their college or university.
